This project arose out of a simple problem with my dad's magnetic phone stand for his car: as the mount consisted only of a circular magnetic pad, his phone would often come loose and fall off when driving over bumps.

I developed a simple clamping mount that wraps around the circular pad, first by hand measuring the mount and remaking its shape in CAD. Pictured are the first and second iterations of this design - the latter wraps flush against the contact surface and more securely holds the bottom of the phone.
